So Sunday was all dedicated to my boyfriend. Since I have
been working all week, haven’t really got much quality time to spend with him.
So I surprisingly woke up early (on a Sunday morning!! WHO DOES THAT!), drove
down to his studio, watched TV, cooked lunch together, and other stuff! :/ We
decided to then go for a movie. His recommendation: Ice age, Mine: Cocktail.
Guess who was red-faced by the end???
The
movie begins with an old-fashioned petite Indian (lets call her Dumby), in
search of her London-based husband (sic). Finds him! N gets betrayed (like we didn’t
know). Then is the grand entry of a free-spirited jobless, characterless,
drunkard woman (lets call her Grumpy), who parties and changes her boyfriends
like I change my mind! They meet in a restroom and in a moment Grumpy decides
to let Dumby stay with her. Why? Cos her parents provide her enough money to
buy expensive clothes and shoes, to rent a duplex in London, to buy a Mini
Cooper, to party like a maniac, and that expensive camera which she should have
been using to get some money. But anyway, she’s a self claimed rich spoilt
bitch. In a while, they become best friends. Why? Cos Dumby actually becomes a
servant and Grumpy changes her entire look and makes her look hot! WOW! Then
comes the entry of what I would call the biggest failure of Indian cinema and
Royalty. Gautam (“Ghanta” here). Ghanta is on a constant look out for sex. Sex rules
his life. There is nothing beyond sex. Anything that has boobs and a rack would
do for him. A stranger on the airport, his strict Chinese boss, may be anything
that walks. So Ghanta, Grumpy, and Dumby fast become best friends with
obviously Ghanta and Grumpy sleeping around because of the above mentioned characters.
Entry of a weird, typical Mother (absolutely unnecessary). All of them plan a
holiday. Where? Cape Town. How? Grumpy has enough money like I said, Ghanta I guess
was an engineer, and Dumby is a software engineer, who happens to get a job but
we never really see her go for it. Anyway, besides the point. Dumby get high on
one tequila shot in a crazy party. Her inner confidence spills out…..and there!!!
Ghanta falls in love with Dumby! Awesome. How?? Don’t ask me, I don’t know. In
one dance a characterless man falls in love with a dumb woman! As predicted, Grumpy
acts smarts, saying its cool, then gets frustrated and jealous suddenly wanting
to marry Ghanta, he is so crazily in love with Dumby, n Dumby is lost. I didn’t
understand her expressions! She was supposed to be angry and selfish and
probably in love. She looked like she’d forgotten her lines. What next. Grumpy
meets with an accident. Ghanta he takes care of her. Dumby takes her I-think-husband,
who is ready to help cos now she’s all hot, also wanting to be with her. Ohho!
Finally, Dumby goes back to a village in New Delhi. Looking all hot, n the
other two losers come back to get her. OMG! I wasted 146 minutes on this shit. No
good story, no expressions, except by Grumpy (she was good). Ghanta is a total waste
of a life.
All in all, my bond with my boyfriend has only gotten
stronger cos we were in this together. So, something good. O yes, by the way,
we watched The Dark Knight Rises last week! Period.
